About the EMI JIP

Sponsored by Chevron, ExxonMobil, TotalEnergies, and Woodside Energy, the EMI-JIP undertakes an annual supply chain survey cycle and one-on-one discussions with leading firms providing engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, and offshore installation services to the energy industry.

  • To put the capability and capacity of leading supply chain companies in front of major oil & gas operators.
  • To facilitate dialogue between the developers of projects and the contractors who deliver them.
  • To maintain up-to-date information so operators may develop projects using market data that reflects the reality of recent historic projects.
  • In doing so, to avoid surprise, delay, and challenges in the project investment process.

The EMI-JIP was initially focused on onshore process facilities in upstream, downstream, and petrochemicals segments, but has grown to include offshore upstream, renewable energy, carbon capture, and hydrogen value chain projects.

Each year we invite select companies to participate in our annual market survey. Additionally, we hold twice-annual meetings where we invite survey participants to present their capabilities and have direct discussions with the EMI-JIP sponsors.

Why become a sponsor of the JIP

Sponsors are leading developers of oil & gas facilities and other process or energy projects. Becoming a sponsor of the EMI-JIP offers a wealth of benefits for businesses looking to stay ahead in a competitive landscape.

  • Sponsors receive the full EMI-JIP survey responses providing them with a source of supply chain market intelligence information to inform their project plans and decision making.
  • By leveraging the EMI-JIP survey data, sponsors can enhance strategic planning, reduce risks, and identify opportunities.
  • The EMI-JIP arranges meetings between sponsors and supply chain companies, where supply chain companies can share their capabilities, initiatives, and innovations.

Why become a survey participant

  • You are engaging directly with industry leaders. Survey responses are fed directly to the EMI-JIP sponsoring companies: Chevron, ExxonMobil, TotalEnergies, and Woodside Energy.
  • You have the opportunity to raise awareness of new capability and capacity in your company.
  • Last year, 10 participating companies were invited for face-to-face meetings to present their capabilities and have direct discussions with the EMI-JIP sponsors.
  • By enabling operators to develop project costs using real market data, the aim is to have fewer upsets, delays, and challenges when bids are received, and project investment decisions are made.
  • Responders will receive an analysis report based on aggregated and anonymized responses providing them with industry trends. Note the report content is subject to there being sufficient data to ensure anonymity.
  • Responding to the EMI-JIP survey can lead to a reduction in ad-hoc market queries and requests.
